This cake smash & splash photoshoot is specially designed for babies celebrating their first birthday.
How does it work?
I’d love to help you celebrate your baby’s first birthday in a fun and creative way! If you’re interested in a cake smash photoshoot, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you understand how it works.
- Contact me: The first step is to check my availability. You can email or call me, and I’ll happily answer any questions. I recommend booking at least four weeks before your baby’s birthday. All photoshoots take place at our home studio located at 1 Hilltop Way, HA7 3DB, Stanmore, London. We operate by appointment only, and our hours are from Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Secure your booking: A £99 non-refundable retainer is required to secure your booking, which will be deducted from your final order.
- Choose your package: You can choose your preferred package during the booking process. We’ll also have a phone consultation to discuss all the details, such as clothing options, desired set-ups, allergies, and where and how you’d like to display your wall art.
- Provide the cake: The birthday cake is not included in the photoshoot. I encourage you to provide a small cake in the agreed-upon colours and theme. This way, we can ensure that the cake fits your preferences and allergies.
- The photoshoot: I’ll ensure that you and your baby have a memorable experience during the photoshoot. Your baby will have fun destroying the cake, followed by a splash in a bubble bath to wash off the cake. I’ll capture all the special moments!
- Final balance: Your balance will be due at the end of the session, and you can pay by card or cash.
- View your images: About 4-5 weeks after the photo shoot, you’ll have access to a private online gallery to view your fully edited images and select your favourites.
- Order additional products: Extra digital files, prints, and wall art can be purchased separately as a ‘la carte product.

It’s important to note that unedited images are not included in any packages and are unavailable for purchase.

The photoshoot’s success largely depends on your baby’s cooperation and mood on the day of the session. Although I cannot guarantee specific outcomes, I will do my utmost to ensure that we create some precious memories.
A Smash the Cake session focuses on capturing the special moment of the baby’s first cake-smashing experience. All you need to bring is a safe cake for the baby to touch and eat.
We provide beautiful, unique gowns and outfits for the mother during the photoshoot. We also have different outfit options for the baby and any other siblings who may participate in the photo shoot. While we have plenty of outfits to choose from, it’s always a good idea to bring a backup if you have a specific outfit in mind for the occasion.
Lastly, it’s a good idea to bring a change of clothes for the baby in case they get too messy. However, don’t stress too much about having everything perfect. The session’s goal is to have fun and let me capture the memories.
Having your family present during the cake smash photoshoot can create truly unique and memorable photos. Whether it’s a sweet embrace with your partner or a playful interaction with your children or pets, these moments will be captured forever in your photos.
