How does the Maternity Photoshoot process work?

I’m dedicated to providing a personalized and high-quality experience, ensuring every client feels comfortable and well cared for. By taking the time to understand your unique vision, I strive to create images that authentically capture your journey. I carefully select clients whose visions align with my artistic style, ensuring a fulfilling photography experience perfectly tailored to you.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to what you can expect during your maternity photoshoot:

  • Initial Contact: Reach out to check my availability for your preferred date. Please fill in the contact form with as many details as possible to help me better understand your vision and preferences.
    I take a limited number of photoshoots each month to ensure the highest quality of service, so it’s best to book well in advance.
    Photoshoots take place at our home studio located at 1 Hilltop Way, HA7 3DB, Stanmore, London.
    All sessions are by appointment only and our hours are Monday through Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • Phone Consultation: We’ll get to know each other better during our phone consultation and plan your session. We’ll discuss important details such as outfit options, poses, and your preferred style, ensuring I understand precisely what you’re looking for and confirming that I’m the right photographer for you.
  • Secure Your Booking: Once we’ve discussed your vision, you can secure your session with a £99 non-refundable retainer, which will be deducted from your final order.
  • Choose Your Package: You can choose your preferred package during the booking process.
  • The Photoshoot – Capture the Magic: On the day of your session, I’ll make sure you feel at ease and comfortable. My goal is to create a relaxed atmosphere where we can capture the beauty of this special time, focusing on the connection and joy between you and your growing family. Hair and makeup services are not included, so come prepared.
  • Final Payment: The remaining balance for your session is due at the end of the photoshoot. You can pay by bank transfer, card, or cash.
  • Viewing Your Images: About 4-5 weeks after your photoshoot, you’ll have access to a private online gallery to view your fully edited images and select your favorites.
  • Ordering Additional Products: You can purchase extra digital files, prints, and wall art separately as a la carte products:
    • Additional high-resolution digital image: £30
    • A detailed price list for additional products can be found on the Wall Art page.
  • Delivery of Your Products: Once you’ve selected your images, you can download your digital files. Your prints and wall art will be delivered to your home within up to 3 weeks.

    It’s important to note that unedited images are not included in any packages and are unavailable for purchase.

Being in front of the camera can sometimes feel intimidating, but I ensure that you feel confident, comfortable and radiant throughout your session. With expert guidance on posing, lighting and styling, I create stunning maternity photography that highlights your natural beauty and emotions.

Pregnancy brings many changes, including stretch marks, weight gain and swollen feet, but these are all part of an incredible journey. My approach is to highlight the strength and glow of motherhood, using professional techniques to create beautiful pregnancy photos that you will cherish forever.

A maternity photography session is more than just a photoshoot. It is a way to capture the emotions, excitement and love of this moment, preserving memories that will last a lifetime.

The best time to book your maternity photoshoot is after your 20-week scan, ensuring you secure a session date at least 6 to 8 weeks in advance. This allows enough time to plan your maternity photography session without feeling rushed.

The ideal time for your pregnancy photoshoot is typically between 28 and 32 weeks of pregnancy. At this stage, your baby bump has a beautiful, well-defined shape, and you are still comfortable enough to pose and move naturally. Every pregnancy is unique, so if you are past this time frame and still interested in a maternity photoshoot, feel free to reach out. I may still be able to accommodate a last-minute maternity session, depending on availability.

For your maternity photoshoot, I provide a selection of elegant maternity dresses, delicate silks, and unique outfits from my client closet. These carefully curated pieces are designed to highlight your baby bump and create stunning, timeless maternity portraits.

To achieve the best results, I recommend bringing a skin-tone lingerie set, along with a white and black lingerie set, which will complement the maternity dresses you choose. This ensures a seamless, polished look and allows for effortless outfit changes during your maternity photography session.

While I offer a range of beautiful maternity outfits, it is also important to bring a comfortable and casual outfit for your loved ones if they are joining the session. Neutral tones and coordinating colours work best for a harmonious and elegant feel.
