How Your Pregnancy Photography Experience Works

Have you ever felt like you’ve lost sight of who you are in a body that’s changing with each passing day? I see you, and that’s precisely why your maternity session is not just about capturing images.

It’s about rediscovering yourself and being seen in a new light – with softness, strength, admiration, and love.

This is a space where you can reconnect with your beauty, power, and story. It’s a place where you’re celebrated, not just as an expecting mother but as the woman you are, in all your depth and transformation.

Each session is designed around you. I take the time to truly understand your vision so we can create something meaningful and personal together. I only take on a limited number of clients who genuinely connect with my artistic approach, so that each woman I work with receives my full attention, care, and creative energy.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to what you can expect during your session:

  • Initial Contact: Reach out to check my availability for your preferred date. Please fill in the contact form with as many details as possible to help me better understand your vision and preferences.
    I take a limited number of photoshoots each month to ensure the highest quality of service, so it’s best to book well in advance.
  • Photoshoot location: All maternity sessions take place at my calm and private home studio in Stanmore, North West London (1 Hilltop Way, HA7 3DB). The studio is easily accessible for families travelling from Harrow, Edgware, Pinner, Bushey, Watford, and other parts of London and Hertfordshire.
    Sessions are by appointment only, and I welcome clients Monday to Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • Phone Consultation: We’ll get to know each other better during our phone consultation and plan your session. We’ll discuss important details, such as outfit options, poses, and your preferred style, to ensure I understand precisely what you’re looking for and confirm that I’m the right photographer for you.
  • Secure Your Booking: Once we’ve discussed your vision, you can secure your session with a £99 non-refundable retainer, which will be deducted from your final order.
  • Choose Your Package: During booking, you’ll choose the package that best suits you – each one includes prints so your favourite images live beyond the screen.
  • The Photoshoot – Capture the Magic: On the day of your session, I’ll make sure you feel at ease and comfortable. My goal is to create a relaxed atmosphere where we can capture the beauty of this special time, focusing on the connection and joy between you and your growing family. Hair and makeup services are not included, so come prepared.
  • Final Payment: The remaining balance for your session is due at the end of the photoshoot. You can pay by bank transfer, card, or cash.
  • Viewing Your Images: Approximately 4-5 weeks after your photoshoot, you will have access to a private online gallery to view your fully edited images and select your favourites.
  • Ordering Additional Products: You can purchase additional digital files, prints, and wall art separately as à la carte items:

    Pregnancy is a transformative chapter, marked by anticipation, emotion, and profound connection. A pregnancy photoshoot is a beautiful way to celebrate your growing bump, capture your glow, and preserve the love you feel during this fleeting season.

    As a professional maternity photographer in London, I specialise in creating elegant, emotive portraits that reflect both your strength and softness. From gentle posing to expert lighting and styling, everything is thoughtfully designed to help you feel confident and beautiful.

    This isn’t just about taking photos – it’s about celebrating your journey into motherhood through meaningful maternity portraits you’ll treasure.

    The ideal time for a pregnancy photo session is between 28 and 32 weeks of pregnancy. At this stage, your bump is perfectly defined, and you still feel comfortable moving and posing naturally.

    I recommend booking your studio maternity shoot after your 20-week scan, allowing us to plan and secure your preferred date.

    If you’re further along, don’t worry – reach out, and I’ll do my best to accommodate a last-minute pregnancy session, depending on availability.

    Absolutely! Partners, children, and even pets are warmly welcome in your session. Including your loved ones adds a layer of warmth and emotion, turning your photos into a true reflection of your journey.

    Whether it’s a loving embrace, your toddler’s excitement, or a quiet moment with your partner, these connections bring depth and emotion to your maternity portraits in North West London.

    You’ll have full access to my client wardrobe, which includes elegant maternity dresses, flowing silks, and carefully selected accessories – all designed to flatter and photograph beautifully.

    To make the most of your session, I suggest bringing:

    • A skin-tone lingerie set, plus a white and black option
    • Coordinated outfits for family members if they’ll join

    Neutral colours and soft textures work wonderfully to keep the focus on you and your growing bump.

    Not at all. While 28 to 32 weeks is typically the best window, I’ve photographed beautiful maternity portraits for mums-to-be well into their 34th or even 36th week.

    If you feel comfortable and your bump remains beautifully defined, we can certainly create stunning images together.

    The most important thing is how you feel – if you’re still comfortable, it’s never too late to create something beautiful.

    That’s completely normal – and you’re not alone. Most of the women I photograph aren’t used to being in front of the camera. My approach is gentle, guided, and encouraging. I’ll guide you through each pose, helping you feel calm, confident, and beautiful.

    This London maternity session is your chance to feel empowered, beautiful, and celebrated, just as you are.

    While professional hair and makeup aren’t included, I highly recommend treating yourself to them. A touch of soft glam can boost your confidence and enhance the overall polished look of your portraits.

    Life with a little one is unpredictable, and I completely understand that. If your baby arrives before we’ve had a chance to do your maternity session, we can shift gears and plan a beautiful newborn photoshoot instead.
